Black Coffee, by Agatha Christie (Charles Osborne)
Unremarkable novel based on a Christie play
(Review posted 13 Feb 2004 02:45:20)

A short and unremarkable novel derived from a play by Agatha Christie. I suppose the play might be good. The novel has nothing in particular to recommend it; Poirot is a parody of himself (as usual), as is Hastings (also as usual).

Many Christie works have a little something that take them beyond self-parody; this one doesn't.
